Friday Fun!

Living healthy natural lives is not always the easiest thing, which is why I started my blog - to inspire and help others live their best life healthfully and naturally. Friday Fun is my way of sharing a bit of my life with you, my readers and friends, and I hope you will be willing to share your thoughts and ideas with me too.

So, here we go!

In my life this week...
It has been a loooooong time since I have done a Friday Fun. Let me be perfectly honest with you - this is because I have not been having much fun to write about. I have some big news to share with you all....Ready?

I am pregnant with my fourth baby! Woohoo!

For the last 7 weeks, I have been feeling absolutely horrible with intense nausea that lasts all day long. When you feel constantly sick, it can really put a damper on things, and it makes it hard to even do the simplest things. I know all you mommas who have also experienced this know exactly what I am talking about.

So, here I am, starting my 2nd trimester, and the nausea is starting to get a bit better. I am finally feeling like I am a human being again! :-)

I am inspired by...
my husband. You have no idea how much he has been a help to me for the last 2 months. I have been completely turned off by ALL food, and that makes it nearly impossible to cook at all. He has really tried to help out as much as he can, and his patience and support helped me get through this.

My favorite thing this week was...
visiting with my new homebirth midwife. Since we have moved since our last baby was born, we had to find a new midwife. We found a wonderful one, and we feel very excited to be able to work with her! It was wonderful to visit with her and have her support.

What's working/not working for me...
Working - Everything is working a bit better for me as this nausea fades a bit. The world just seems a much sunnier place. :-)

Not working - I still am not excited to cook. Most foods still don't appeal to me, which makes for a lot of redundant dinners. My family doesn't seem to care though. They are just happy to have food on their plates.

Questions/thoughts I have...
Is my baby alive? We still haven't heard the heartbeat or felt the little one kick, so it always makes me a bit nervous. Just another lesson in trusting God.

I'm reading...
The Wives of Duck Dynasty, God's Whisper in a Mother's Chaos by Keri Wyatt Kent, and I am still reading through one chapter of the Bible a day, starting in Matthew.

I'm cooking...
Well, I'm not cooking much. I did make some delicious rhubarb sauce with rhubarb from our backyard and some raw, organic honey. Otherwise, I am eating a lot of Protein balls. They have given me tremendous relief for my nausea. I eat about 6-8 of them a day. :-)

I'm grateful for...
my husband who loves me despite me being an up-and-down mess, beautiful Spring days, meeting a friend at the library, great examples of other Christian moms/wives, apple cider vinegar, probiotics, naps, protein balls, great workouts, things to look forward to.

A photo, video, link, or quote to share...
This is the phrase and picture we used to tell lots of friends and family we were expecting baby #4. :-)

We have lots of love, chaos, and crazy, but we wanted more!! Instead of three children we will soon have FOUR!

  1. Congratulations on your wonderful news! I can relate to you because I had horrible nausea when pregnant with my daughter! But when that baby is born, somehow we forget the suffering! Best Wishes to you!
