Living healthy natural lives is not always the easiest thing, which
is why I started my blog - to inspire and help others live their best
life healthfully and naturally. I want to give you examples of how I am
doing it through weekly updates, and I am hoping some of you will be
willing to share your thoughts and ideas too.
So, here we go! I hope this helps and inspires all of you!
In my life this week...
Gosh, it hasn't been a very rosy week. It continues to amaze me how much the sun affects people. We haven't seen any sign of the sun this whole week. Blah. Now, it is Friday. I am crabby. My kids are crabby. And I just want to blame it on the sun. Oh, and did I mention it snowed here like over 6 inches. On April 11th. That drives me batty too. Anyways, on to the positive. I started reading a fabulous book that I will be reviewing about a family of four who rides their bikes from the tip top of Alaska to the very bottom of South America. Super cool! So, I have been living vicariously through them this week.
I am inspired by...
that bike-riding family I just mentioned. I mean, the parents and their 10 year old sons biked for three years to reach their goal! They were chased by a grizzly bear, had to bike through snowy, windy crazy weather, biked through sickness and exhaustion...It is just inspiring!
My favorite thing this week was...
my husband coming home early on Thursday. That was so nice...
What's working/not working for me...
Working
- my kids and I are pretty much professional grocery game and Chutes and Ladders players. Oh, and I am also getting to be really good at making cauliflower "breadsticks". Oh, and with a little essential oil use, my husband's teeth are finally getting better.
Not working -Spring is clearly not working. My patience is growing thinner as the days pass and we keep waking up to snowy, cold days. But, I will stop talking about the weather.
Questions/thoughts I have...
Why don't I take a real rest at least one day of the week? What is up with me that I feel weird resting?
Things I'm working on...
Well, I am not currently working on it, but I plan to try to work harder on resting
more. Tough life, huh? :-) What I mean by resting more is resting my
brain, my mind from constantly thinking - working on my ipod while
nursing my daughter, answering the phone while doing 200 other things,
listening to a podcast while working on the computer...you get the gist
of it.
I'm reading...
The Strong-Willed Child by Dr. James Dobson - another really good book for all parents! Unglued Devotional by Lysa TerkHurst (I am reading it again, because it is that good) Changing Gears: A Family Odyssey to the End of the World by Nancy Sathre Vogel for review
I'm cooking...
Cilantro Shrimp, Butternut squash, chicken avocado salad, cauliflower "bread sticks" and marinara, Chicken and cauliflower "fried rice"
I'm grateful for...
my children at all of their stages in life. My baby Brynn got her first tooth, and I about cried the whole day. It just hit me hard that she is getting older and not my little infant anymore. I am also trying to be grateful for the body God has given me.
A photo, video, link, or quote to share...
I really needed this reminder this week, and especially today.
Cilantro shrimp sounds so good!
