Friday Fun!

Living healthy natural lives is not always the easiest thing, which is why I started my blog - to inspire and help others live their best life healthfully and naturally. I want to give you examples of how I am doing it through weekly updates, and I am hoping some of you will be willing to share your thoughts and ideas too.

So, here we go! I hope this helps and inspires all of you!

In my life this week...
My week started out awesome with Easter and all that joy that brings, remembering the mind-boggling amazing love of Christ, his intense death and suffering for us on the cross, and his miraculous resurrection which gives us the peace and promise of eternal life in heaven with Him! Easter was definitely the high for me for the week. From there on out, this week has been back to normal - kids, crazy, work, more crazy. (smile)

I am inspired by...
Jesus - plain and simple. There is nobody in the world who could do love the way He loved, sacrifice the way He sacrificed, and save us the way he save us. Try as I might, some days I try to save myself from the daily stresses by looking to my husband, exercise, food, other relationships, etc. but nothing else saves me or brings me His peace.

My favorite thing this week was...
a major aha! moment I had in Bible study on Easter Sunday. It brought me to tears right in Bible Study, and I honestly couldn't help it.

What's working/not working for me...
Working - getting in a nice groove with my personal training clients, getting back in a pretty good groove with my kids, and starting to be able to get outside sometimes with a few days of warmer temps (by warmer, I mean 40's)

Not working - my relationship with my husband has been a little strained. He got two wisdom teeth pulled last Friday, and he has been a bit of a bear since then. If anyone has any natural pain remedies or remedies for tooth problems, PLEASE tell me about them!!!!

Questions/thoughts I have...
Why don't I take a real rest at least one day of the week? What is up with me that I feel weird resting?

Things I'm working on...
Well, I am not currently working on it, but I plan to try to work harder on resting more. Tough life, huh? :-) What I mean by resting more is resting my brain, my mind from constantly thinking -  working on my ipod while nursing my daughter, answering the phone while doing 200 other things, listening to a podcast while working on the computer...you get the gist of it.

I'm reading...
The Strong-Willed Child by Dr. James Dobson - another really good book for all parents!  Unglued Devotional by Lysa TerkHurst (I am reading it again, because it is that good) and the third book in the Gods and Kings series

I'm cooking...
Mexican Meatloaf, Peach Salsa Chicken, Shrimp Stir fry, "cookies" for my kids which involve three ingredients - bananas, oats and a few raisins.

I'm grateful for...
the hard times, because they make you appreciate the good times all the more.

A photo, video, link, or quote to share...

This quote hit me hard this week. I know we all do this - feel guilty about not being enough and arguing with ourselves about meaningless things...Let's stop.
 Stay Motivated. #BiggestLoser

  1. I love this idea! I may have to use that for interaction on my blog too!
I'll take one of these...Things I'm working on....trying to be still and hear God speak to me. What is it HE wants me to do, and be still until I hear Him say to move. Instead I take control after ...oh.... 15 seconds of silence from God and try to make something happen....

    1. Glad you like it, Mindy! If you choose to use it on your blog, I would just love a little shout out that the idea came from here. :-)

Also, I love that idea of being still and listening to God. I am a bit of a control freak, and I have the same problem you do. I am going to work on that too! Thanks for your thoughts!
