When was the last time you had a great laugh? You know what I'm talking about....the kind where you hear and see something that strikes you as just plain and undeniably FUNNY. I'm talking about the kind of laugh where something just hits you out of the blue causing an almost uncontrolled spasm from your belly to your throat, causing your mouth to open and your vocals to gush....Yeah, the good laugh...a perfect mini-workout.
If you want to infuse a little laughter in your day, check out Mary Roach's new book: My Planet Finding Humor in the Oddest Places. Our every day lives have many humorous moments, it is just up to us to see them all. Mary Roach points out these moments of her life and makes you see the funny of the world. From tipping the trash man at Christmas, to Solid Surface Countertops, and from What we Wear to What we Eat, Mary Roach seems to have found her niche writing some pretty hilarious essays. She got me thinking about my life, in all the little and ordinary ways that it is just funny. Since reading her book, I look at what could be considered plain and boring, and make it funny in my mind.
We forget, don't we? We forget that laughter is important. While many of us conscientiously eat right, avoid toxins, work out, pray, and love others, we forget that LAUGHTER is also a perfectly healthy and simply GOOD thing to do for our bodies. Mary Roach will help you remember! My Planet comes out April 4th and can be found at nationwide retailers and online. Good, Funny Stuff!

I will have to check this book out. My daughter has informed me I am too negative lately and have lost my sense of humor. To a degree she has a point. Every once in a while we need to step back, take a deep breath, and lighten up. I think I have reached that point. Seeing the humor in little things is a good way to do it.
