Friday Fun!

Living healthy natural lives is not always the easiest thing, which is why I started my blog - to inspire and help others live their best life healthfully and naturally. I want to give you examples of how I am doing it through weekly updates, and I am hoping some of you will be willing to share your thoughts and ideas too.

So, here we go! I hope this helps and inspires all of you!

In my life this week...
Much better week...ahhhh. Definitely not perfect, but I made it through with much more sanity than last week. Got started teaching another new class at the fitness center I work at, got two new personal training clients, tried to rearrange my schedule a bit to accommodate my children better and that felt fantastic for all of us - my kids got more Mommy time, and I got more focused kid time.

I am inspired by...
those on the front lines - the front lines of fighting for what they believe in - whether they be soldiers, moms fighting for healthier school lunches, people providing safe places for young girls coming out of sex trafficking, just to name a few...

My favorite thing this week was...
falling back in love with being a mom. By rearranging my schedule, I was able to spend a bit more time just being mommy - smelling their baby skin, smoothing their soft hair, giving tons of hugs and kisses and laughing numerous times of all the funny kids stuff they do!

What's working/not working for me...
Working - like I have said, rearranging my schedule has been helping a ton. Also, keeping open communication with my husband and making sure he knows when I am about to snap and why, instead of just retreating into my sad, lonely place and putting a big wall up around myself. It also helps for me to plan something to look forward to each week - whether it is a little sister time at the mall, a mini date with my husband, or some hard core workout time at the gym.

Not working -Well, the new and improved me also has had rough moments, moments I get caught up in work for a little extra time than I wanted, moments my patience runs thin because I am doing too many things at one time, and moments I wish my attitude would have been better.

Questions/thoughts I have...
When is my 5 month old daughter going to be done teething?

Things I'm working on...
perfecting my time management, stressing less about small things, and being more content with all I've been given!

I'm reading...
Harry Potter - the 7th and last book. Unglued by Lysa TerkHurst, and I am still plugging away slowly on the parenting book, Creative Correction by Lisa Whelchel

I'm cooking...
Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Cookies for my hubby, veggie and bean tacos, turkey and butternut squash hash, cauliflower sticks and marinara, and spaghetti squash and beef. Almost all of these recipes are on my Healthy Recipes page on Pinterest. If you are not following, you may want to be!

I'm grateful for...
God's mercies, which give me much more relief than anything on Earth that I try to use to solve my stress and anxiety. I am also grateful for all gifts I have been given, including a fabulous family and many talents that I under-appreciate at times.

A photo, video, link, or quote to share...

This is one thing I am working on...contentment, what a beautiful thing!
Godliness with contentment is great gain. 1Tim 6:6
