Friday Fun!

Living healthy natural lives is not always the easiest thing, which is why I started my blog - to inspire and help others live their best life healthfully and naturally. I want to give you examples of how I am doing it through weekly updates, and I am hoping some of you will be willing to share your thoughts and ideas too.

So, here we go! I hope this helps and inspires all of you!

In my life this week...
I worked a lot earlier in the week, found out I lost my health insurance, panicked for a few hours, remembered to trust in God to provide, and now I'm relaxing at my in-laws home. It is nice for our whole family to get away for a few days and relax, enjoy each other, and see relatives we don't get to see very often.

I am inspired by...
the children I heard about this week who live in Haiti, who eat their own hair just to get some saliva to flow in their mouth, and who are still some of the happiest little children around! I was very thankful to be able to help them in a little way by providing clean drinking water for a month for one family.

My favorite thing this week was...
playing games with my in-laws and my husband. I love to play games, and for some reason, I don't play many games at home, unless it is a kid's game like Candyland or the Grocery Game.

What's working/not working for me...
Working - reconnecting with my husband these last few days has been nice. I love him so much, and I just can't believe how our love continues to grow day after day after day!

Not working - still trying to be the perfect parent, which I never will be. That doesn't mean I stop trying to do my best, but I do need to learn to not feel guilty when my children make bad choices.

Questions/thoughts I have...
How do people who live where it is cold almost all year (like Siberia) survive?

Things I'm working on...
I am always working on keeping my priorities straight...Plus, I am starting to meditate (eyes closed, mind cleared) on a different Bible passage for about 5 minutes a day. So far, I am loving every minute, and I think it is really helping me stay focused on what is important.

I'm reading...
The Strong-Willed Child by Dr. James Dobson - another really good book for all parents!  Unglued by Lysa TerkHurst

I'm cooking...
I am getting a few days off from cooking right now, but earlier in the week, I made delicious Crockpot Mustard Chicken, Crockpot Cashew Chicken, and Coconut Shrimp Soup

I'm grateful for...
loving family really care, the challenge of working with different personalities, so many different learning opportunities I am given daily.
