Living healthy natural lives is not always the easiest thing, which is
why I started my blog - to inspire and help others live their best life
healthfully and naturally. I want to give you examples of how I am doing
it through weekly updates, and I am hoping some of you will be willing
to share your thoughts and ideas too.
So, here we go! I hope this helps and inspires all of you!
In my life this week...
Trying to reorganize my life to add some new personal training clients in, got new glasses, got a fun new haircut (shortest hair I have had since high school) and enjoyed some great moments with my kids and husband.
I am inspired by...
this mom who is the author of the Christian parenting book I am reading, "Creative Correction by Lisa Whelchel. She just has some fabulous tips and ideas to use as you raise your children to be the loving Christian people God wants them to be. I am so inspired by her creativity!
My favorite thing this week was...
getting back to doing personal training. While I love teaching fitness classes, I also love, love, love the one on one time of motivating, guiding and teaching my clients how to take care of their body and strengthen it the best they can! I also love what they teach me.
What's working/not working for me...
Working
- re-direction is working as a parenting tool with my very opinionated, stubborn two year old daughter. She has the will of an ox, and she can get into some nasty moods and fits. Redirecting her mind to something else has been really helpful this week.
Not
working - Spring. Right when I thought we had warmer weather to look forward to here in the Twin Cities, we are now facing 12-16 inches of snow and temperatures below freezing. I am sick of it!!! Where is Spring??
Questions/thoughts I have...
How can I do things more selflessly? Without expecting anything in return? That is my problem. I love going out of my way to make others feel special, but when I feel that what I did was not reciprocated or even acknowledged, I have a hard time not letting it hurt me.
Things I'm working on...
maintaining a really close relationship with my husband, trying to figure out how to move forward with a certain very special, strained relationship in my life, and again trying to balance my many responsibilities.
I'm reading...
Harry Potter
- the 7th and last book. Unglued by Lysa TerkHurst, and I am still plugging away slowly on the parenting book, Creative Correction by Lisa Whelchel
I'm cooking...
This amazing new Chicken Crockpot recipe, Coconut Shrimp, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies for my hubby, Chicken and Cauliflower Rice, and lots of yummy salads.
I'm grateful for...
new days to make any wrongs you have done right, the chance to shine in other peoples' lives, my children who never fail to be my biggest challenge and one of my biggest joys, and my loving and sweet husband.
A photo, video, link, or quote to share...
A picture of my new hair cut and my sweet little baby, Brynn, who has the most kissable cheeks!!! Ever!!
This blog is here to share the gift of good health and natural living with you so you can live your best life! You will also find great products that we review and have chances to win these products through the many giveaways!
It's amazing how much our daily habits (good, bad, neutral) can strain relationships. I know someone who is vegan and has been many years, married a non-vegan. I think she didn't realize how much it would bother her to have even the smell of fish in the house, so her spouse has to cook it outside, eat in the cellar, and is not allowed to bring any dishes into the house until washed. Whether one is right or wrong doesn't matter as much as it is a strain, b/c both feel strongly, it is hard to be relegated to the cellar, and it is nauseating to be affronted with odors that disagree with you intensely.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, Rose-Marie. Yes, it is hard to work through the many issues we come across in our special relationships in life. I think good face to face communication is key!
