Black Bean Burger With George Foreman Grill

I have been wanting to try to make a homemade Black Bean burger after I had my first delicious bite at a restaurant not too long ago.

When I received the George Foreman Removable-Plate Grill, I knew I had the perfect tool to make these burgers. I was worried about them falling apart on a normal grill, and since they can't fall through any cracks on this grill, and they can still cook perfectly, I knew this was my chance to try them out!

Here is my recipe below:

Healthy Black Bean Burger

You will need:
1 1/2 cups black beans, rinsed and drained
1/2 yellow bell pepper, sliced
1/3 cup chopped red onion
3/4 cup shredded carrot
1/3 cup dry quick-cooking oats
2 1/2 tsp coconut oil
1/2 tsp cumin

1. Put all these ingredients in a food processor and pulse until combined. This took me about 2-3 minutes. Then, form it into 4 patties.
2. Put the patties right on the George Foreman Grill. (or if you are using a regular grill, I would put them on aluminum foil with cooking spray) Cook patties for 5 minutes on one side and 5 minutes on the flip side.
3. To serve, add tomato, lettuce or whatever else you like on a nice flavorful burger! Enjoy!

These are so tasty and so healthy! Lots of protein, added veggies and they are super low fat! I knew this would be the perfect recipe to submit to "The George Foreman Grill: Show Us Your Grill Skill Recipe Contest." I hope you enjoy it, as well - perfect meal for a Meatless Monday!

I received the above mentioned free product(s) for review purposes from George Foreman and The Family Review Network. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commissions 16 CFR, Part 255 Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising. I was not asked to provide anything other than my honest opinion.

  5. My husband loves beans and this sounds like a good way to serve them. I have a Forman grill and don't use it nearly enough. I have all the ingredients, so I should be able to try it soon.
    Thanks for the recipe.
