Dawn Publications Spring Books Review

It is so refreshing to think about Spring. To help you do that, I want to introduce you to a wonderful small publisher, Dawn Publications that’s been in business connecting children and nature since 1979.  Dawn Publications is dedicated to inspiring in children a deeper understanding and appreciation for all life on Earth. They aim to help parents and teachers encourage children to bond with the Earth in a relationship of love, respect, and intelligent cooperation, through the books they publish and the educational materials they offer online.

I love their new Spring collection! Right now, they are offering 25% off all three of these beautiful books!

Over in the Forest: Come Take a Peek by Marianne Berkes is such delightful book that all kids will enjoy. You can sing it with the melody provided in the back of the book to the tune of "Over in the Meadow" or just ready it however you like. I love that it teaches children counting, tips on how to be an outdoor detective, and lots of interesting facts about forest animals. You can even read about how the illustrator made her illustrations from cut paper and try it out as an art project with your kids. My kids want me to read this story over and over again, and they enjoy it every single time!

Molly’s Organic Farm by Carol L. Malnor and Trina L. Hunner is a delightful story of a little cat who finds herself in the wondrous world of an organic farm! This book helps educate children about what all happens in an organic farm and even tells you the true story of Molly, the cat, at the end of the book. My two children were fascinated by this book, and they loved learning about this organic farm, which is like the many farms where we get our own food from. There is so much to explore in this book. Your children will want to come back to it time and time again. And you will perfectly happy about that!

Jo MacDonald Had a Garden by Mary Quattlebaum is a new take on Old MacDonald. Your children will love singing along with this book as you explore how butterflies, bumblebees, and birds help a garden to thrive—and how you can help them too. There is so much fun packed into this book, along with a whole lot of learning. This book is interactive and asks the reader to dig further to learn more! Since my children love helping out with our garden, they loved this book too! In fact, I think they want to be just like Jo MacDonald. And that is a-okay with me!

I think these books would be a perfect addition to your home collection. All children will develop a greater appreciation of healthy food and how it nourishes our bodies when they realize how it grows and where it comes from. Let these books inspire you to plant a few herbs, plants, or a whole garden this Spring!

You can buy all of these books from Dawn Publishing. Each one is on sale for less than $7 right now!
