Baobab Fruit Recipes

Have you heard about one of the coolest, "new" fruits around - Baobab(pronounced bao-bab)? If not, it is high time you know about it.

Baobab is known as the perfect fruit - a fruit so nutritious, so packed full of goodness, that people have been nourished by its bounty for centuries. (So why don't we all have Baobab in our kitchens?)

One of the things that makes it so special is that this fruit is so well designed that it requires almost no processing while maintaining maximum nutrient potency and synergy! That is something to celebrate in this day and age of over processed, nutrient-devoid food! Kaibae Baobab powder is USDA organic, gluten-free, GMO-free, vegan, nut-free, and Kosher. Baobab contains six times more Vitamin C than an orange, twice as much calcium than a glass of milk, four times the potassium of a banana, and six times the antioxidants than berries and twelve times the dietary fiber of an apple!

After finding out how awesome Baobab is, I just kept wondering why I hadn't heard of it before. Well, it turns out that it simply hasn't been imported into North America until recently. It's well known in Africa, and very much depended upon, but only now are we getting the chance to learn about it and try it. I raise a big glass of Baobab Fruit drink to that!

So, how do you use it?

Easy - “Mix,Stir,Sprinkle.” You can add it in yogurt and granola or smoothies. It naturally has a sweet/citrus taste. I personally enjoy mixing about a teaspoon or two, along with my green drink powder, with a nice big glass of water before, during or after my workouts. Each glass of this tangy drink is jam-packed with antioxidants, fiber and electrolytes (magnesium and potassium to help you recover after a workout), calcium and Vitamin C.

Here are a few more ways to enjoy Baobab:

Kaibae Baobab Fruit Smoothie

1 cup frozen mixed berries
2 teaspoons Kaibae Baobab Fruit Powder
1 handful baby spinach
Water or non-dairy milk to achieve desired smoothie consistency

Combine ingredients in a blender, and add water or milk alternative until desired consistency is achieved. Enjoy and cleanse away!

Baobab Banana Smoothie
2 heaping tbsp baobab fruit powder, or more if a thicker smoothie is desired
1 banana
1c yogurt, glass of cold milk or non-dairy alternative –

Traditional Baobab Refresher
2 heaping tbsp baobab fruit powder
1 glass of cold water, milk or non-dairy alternative
sweeten to taste with agave, honey, sugar or monk fruit -

I encourage you to try it. Find out more about Kaibae Baobab Fruit Powder and buy it here. Drink up!
