Living healthy natural lives is not always the easiest thing, which
is why I started my blog - to inspire and help others live their best
life healthfully and naturally. Friday Fun is my way of sharing a bit
of my life with you, my readers and friends, and I hope you will be
willing to share your thoughts and ideas with me too.
So, here we go!
In my life this week...
It has been a bit of a rough one, and I was so incredibly thankful to wake up this morning to my having my husband home with me today!
On Tuesday, during a class I was teaching, I tore my meniscus in my right knee. Not good. That night, I couldn't sleep because it was so painful. Thankfully, my sister who is an athletic trainer, helped diagnose and gave me some good pointers. The next day, I couldn't just take a break from life with three kids and my work, so I carried on - icing as often as I could, while also taking alfalfa and omegas as natural anti-inflammatories. This helped tremendously! Slowly, but surely, my knee is feeling much better, and today I even did a workout. Shhhh...don't tell anyone.
I am inspired by...
beautiful weather. How can you not want to get out and enjoy the beauty of nature when it is 70 degrees and sunny in October? I love it! I have been soaking in as much beautiful weather as possible.
My favorite thing this week was...
playing outside in the leaves with my kids yesterday afternoon. My personal training clients all cancelled on me, so I had a free afternoon, and we had the best time together! We had a fun fall photo shoot, and I loved capturing such wonderful moments on camera.
What's working/not working for me...
Working
- My secret all-natural anti-inflammatories - alfalfa and omegas. It's so awesome to have natural alternatives that do an even better job than icky ibuprofen.
Not
working - Missing my husband. We hardly had any time to connect this week, so it was rough.
Questions/thoughts I have...
What kind of exercises can I do to strengthen my knee and help my meniscus?
I'm reading...
Until We Reach Home by Lynn Austen, Encouragement for Today Devotional by Proverbs 31 Team, Creative Correction by Lisa Whelchel, lots of children's books!
I'm cooking...
Crockpot Chicken Tacos, Beef and Veggie Chili, Baked Salmon and veggies, eggs of all kinds
I'm grateful for...
my husband's days off, great personal training clients, my knee not getting more injured, gorgeous weather, leaves to play with, smiles, hugs, kisses, purple carrots, and so much more!!
A photo, video, link, or quote to share...
Here is a little look at our fall photo shoot yesterday. I loved this one!
Too late, you already told on yourself! :P
