So, here we go!
In my life this week...
Is it Friday already? Hooray! This has been a sweet/sad week for me, because it is the last week I have with my son all to myself. Next week, he starts kindergarten! My little baby! I remember when he was younger and I couldn't even imagine what he would be like when he started kindergarten. Now, I know, and I am so proud of him!
This week, I got a massage, which was so needed and felt amazing. I wish I could get them weekly - if only...We also broke down and got a portable air conditioner. The 90 degree weather we had this week and 90's again in the upcoming forecast was the last straw for me. It makes cooking, playing, and just being almost unbearable in this house when it is that hot. So, thank God for giving us the means to at least get a portable air conditioner!
I am inspired by...
my son, Malachi. He is such a sensitive little boy, and when he knows he did something wrong, the sorrow on his little heart over that sin is immense. I spend more time reminding him that he is forgiven and loved, instead of trying to get him to see the wrong he did. That inspires me to take my own sins just as seriously.
My favorite thing this week was...
either getting that massage I mentioned before or taking morning walks with my kids, exploring new areas and seeing "regular" everyday things through the wonder of their eyes.
What's working/not working for me...
Working - My husband and I reminded ourselves of how carefully we must deal with our children's emotions by reading some fantastic articles from Focus on the Family. They were terrific at reminding me of the impact I have on my children in the ways I react to them.
Not working - My car - any time you turn on the air, this awful exhaust smell fills the car, until you practically can't breathe. We already took it in to get repaired once, and it was a complete waste of hundreds of dollars, since they didn't fix anything. Ughh! So, now we are going to have to take it in again.
Questions/thoughts I have...
I love my job! I love meeting new personal training clients and getting to know their unique personalities, struggles, and triumphs. The relationships I build with them and the hurdles they cross stay with me forever!
I'm reading...
The Girl in the Gatehouse by Julie Klassen, Unglued Devotional by Lisa Terkhurst 1000 Gifts by Ann Voskamp, Health magazines
I'm cooking...
Salmon and sweet potato fries, Mexican Sliders, Cucumber salad, watermelon (did you know you can eat the rind?)
I'm grateful for...
being able to list 1000 gifts in my life! I reached my goal of 1000 things I am thankful for, and now I am starting a new journal where I will continue to list as many gifts I can think of daily. I am also thankful that my children continue to be very healthy, that my body continues to stay strong and amazes me with what it can handle.
A photo, video, link, or quote to share...
I wanted to reminisce and share with you a video of my son and soon-to-be kindergartner when he was just a little boy...make sure you check out the little cheerio stuck to his butt! :-)
