Celiac Awareness Month - Canyon Bakehouse Review

*Cathy was given this product to review with no obligations; her opinions are her own.

Gluten Free. Everyone is hearing about it. Some people are choosing to go gluten free because they have educated themselves and know the benefits. Others have to go gluten free because of Celiac Disease. Celiac disease is a lifelong disorder affecting digestion in the small intestine. There are over 300 symptoms related to Celiac Disease. These symptoms range from bloating/gas to depression. If you have Celiac, you know it is just no fun at all.  Because Celiac Disease symptoms come from consuming gluten, which is found in wheat, rye, and barley, finding food sources is not that fun either.

I found a source! Canyon Bakehouse makes WONDERFUL tasting breads. I mean it...they really are great tasting. I wanted to tell you that right off the bat. When Canyon Bakehouse sent me their 7-Grain, Cinnamon Raisin, and Hamburger Buns, they knew I would be tasting and writing about it.  What THEY didn't know is that my home is a revolving door of my son and his 13 year old friends! The gang often comes over after school, ready to play some sports, and they are often hungry. When I received the bread, I made some toast for everyone and got some reactions.

First, my reaction was WOW.  I've tried many gluten free breads, and this one was by far better tasting. The thing is, I want all of the products I try to work out. I want to find a gluten free bread that tastes great. I was wondering if I my taste buds were a little biased. So, I deferred to expert opinion - the boys who eat absolutely EVERYTHING with no dietary restrictions. I made both the Cinnamon Raisin and 7-Grain in the toaster and put some coconut oil on it too. The reaction of the boys made me smile......"Oh wow, this amazing" and "Where did this come from" and, of course, "Do you have more?" were the first responses. Despite having plenty of other choices, the boys just wanted more of the Canyon Bakehouse bread.

Canyon Bakehouse is super conscious of how they make their breads. They take extra measures to ensure that everything in their facility is gluten free. All ingredients are tested, and gluten is prohibited. How caring is that! So, there you have it. My opinion on Canyon Bakehouse is that it will be my go-to bread. Not only are the breads verified "awesome" by some really great kids, I really trust what the company stands for: quality and conscientiousness. You can find Canyon Bakehouse online and at local retailers
