- Don't hide your emotions behind food. Emptiness, pain, numbness, and anger won't go away if we try to stuff these feelings down with food. Make a commitment to resolve past issues that drive you towards unhealthy, un-conscious eating.

I am a nervous eater, always have been. If I am overwhelmed, worried about something, or have too much to do, I eat. Every so often I can beat it, but it is a constant battle. The only option is to keep foods I shouldn't have out of the house.
ReplyDeleteVery good tip - just don't buy the junk. I know, it is a constant struggle for me to overcome emotional eating. I think I will be working on it my whole life long.
DeleteI am still working on this one, but I definitely agree that getting to the root of the problem is much more effective than trying to smooth things over with food!
ReplyDeleteYes, Robin. Every time I think I will feel better by eating, I end up feeling the same afterward with a little bit of guilt added on...
