Take Charge of Eating Tip #3

We are on day three of our Take Control of Eating journey. Let's continue with another great tip. (If you missed my post about why or how we are doing this, check it out before you join us)

#3 - Notice your own physical rhythms. How do you feel after you eat? Energized? Sluggish? Content? Do you burn food quickly, slowly, or in-between?

What do you feel when you have dairy products, vegetables, meat, beans, fruit, grains, or processed foods? Only you have the answers to these questions.

I love this tip, because it is so key to finding a diet that best suits you. (again, not talking about a starve yourself diet) When I did the Whole30 challenge last month it really helped my body detox and then see how different foods affected me, and that is what I am most thankful for about that challenge. Now, I am able to understand what my body prefers better. I don't give it processed food hardly ever, because I know it slows down my digestive system and makes me feel sluggish. I prefer lots of fruits and veggies, because those make me feel the best!

How do these foods make you feel? Think about it...

  1. I know that protein and fiber are the best at filling me up, but I don't always pay attention to other foods as much. I should start a detailed food journal to record how I feel.
