Whole30 Challenge - Day 2

So, onto Day 2.

Let me first just say that last night I had a hard time not eating anything during my usual snacky time. I drank a cup of warm tea instead, but it didn't quite cut the mustard. I decided if I go to bed earlier, that will help. Now, if only my baby would cooperate.

Today, I woke up refreshed. But, then the chaos set in with my three kids, which made me wonder why I am choosing to make my life more complicated with this Whole30. Then, I remembered...ahhh...my health. If I don't take care of myself, then I can be of no good to others.

Today, cashews and a banana before my workout. Scrambled eggs with tons of veggies to rebuild muscle after my workout. (side note: they say you shouldn't do super hard workouts during this Whole30, so I have scaled my workouts back a bit, which makes me feel a little better about having to cut out my post-workout protein shake) For lunch, I am making shrimp stir-fry. For supper, chicken and pepper sausages with butternut squash and spinach salad.

Since they say this first week is the hardest, especially since your body is going through a bit of a detox and sugar withdrawal, I am just taking this one day at a time. Lord, get me through this day. :-)

  1. It is so hard to institute a new eating program at any time, but with an infant and small children plus everything else you do, I can't imagine my being able to do it. I have always been a stress eater, and there would certainly be a lot of stress in these circumstances. My body craves carbs and doesn't do well without them.
I know all our bodies function differently. I hope your body adjusts well to the new diet and wish you the best.
