PJ's Organics Burritos

I love Mexican food. I love making enchiladas, tacos, and any other Mexican dish I can think of. Sometimes, though, I am in a major time crunch teaching a fitness class until right before supper, and I have to think of a super quick, but still nutritious, supper. That is when I turn to PJ's Organics burritos.

These burritos are the best of all worlds. They are delicious, hand-rolled, made with organic ingredients that are locally sourced when possible, and homemade in the PJ's kitchen. When you pick them out of your freezer, you know that you couldn't have made a healthier version yourself. The best part is...you don't have to do any work to get a healthy supper. Just take one out of the package and cook it on your stove, oven or microwave. (I prefer the stove or oven)

They only make burritos, so they have really mastered the art. They offer six different varieties: Traditional Chicken, Steak and Cheese, Breakfast, Skinny, Five-Layer, and Southwestern-Style. My personal favorite is the Skinny burrito, which is made of organic brown rice, organic black beans, organic white chicken meat, organic veggies and spices and organic low fat cheese. Plus, this burrito only has 2 grams of fat, 310 calories, 4 grams of fiber and 15 grams of protein. That is a well-rounded, nutritious burrito!

My husband's favorite was the Steak and Cheese. I never make steak, so this burrito satisfied his craving for it. Plus, there is no guilt involved - all organic, lots of protein, no GMOs, and a satisfying, hearty meal. What is there not to love?

Check out their other varieties and find a store near you that carries them. I was so happy to see that my local co-op carries them, so I can get them anytime! Enjoy some healthy Mexican tonight!

  1. Sounds yummy. With something you don't regularly make, a pre-made option is most convenient. This is especially true when they are nutritious, tasty, and frozen. We will be traveling soon and these would be handy to have when you have only a microwave to fix meals with. Thanks for the review.
