When I received the program to try and review, I was even more thrilled. I am talking about "jumping around the house, doing my happy dance, screaming for joy" kind of thrilled. You see, I have been in the fitness industry for 8 years or so, and Jillian has inspired and motivated me along my whole journey. I love her "get to it," honest attitude, her ability to challenge and motivate at the same time, and her whole lifestyle approach to health. This program starts out very basic, but also has modifications if you want to push harder. I love that each workout is only 30 minutes, so there is no time wasted. Jillian uses all the techniques that I love to wake up your metabolism and get you in shape fast - Circuit Training, HIIT, Peripheral Heart Action, Functional Core-Based training, Plyos, Super Setting, and Combo Lifts. Plus, I was also pleasantly surprised to see that she also uses several modified yoga poses to tone.
I love the variety of this 90 day program. I have done other 90 day programs, and they got very repetitive and boring. I had to force myself to do the daily workouts, and they weren't much fun. The Body Revolution has much more variety, builds in intensity appropriately, and keeps your body guessing. After the first month, you switch to Phase 2, which gives you 5 new and more challenging workouts. When you hit the third month, you switch to the last Phase and get 5 more new workouts. I was always looking forward to what each new month would bring, and I was not disappointed. As a personal trainer myself, I feel like I know almost every move out there and not many fitness DVD's challenge me, but by Phase 2 and 3, I was definitely feeling these workouts!
I also have to say that the Fat Burning Meal Plan is the best I have ever seen. I usually totally disregard those, but Jillian got it right by asking you to cut out nasty ingredients and foods that are unhelpful to weight loss. She stresses organic foods and offers easy-to-make, healthy, clean meals. As my three year old paged through this booklet, even he was asking for me to make these meals!
I can't recommend Jillian Michaels Body Revolution enough, and I am looking forward to using the whole program to shed any extra baby weight after my third child is born in September. Most people dread trying to lose weight, but this program makes it exciting!

ReplyDeleteThe Fat Burning Meal Plan sounds like it would be a big help. I think her program may a bit intense for someone my age and condition. However, most exercise plans can be modified and adjusted for that sort of thing. Thanks for the review of the program and letting us know what it includes.
ReplyDeleteI just finished day 1, workout 1. I was a little hesitant b/c I have done Jillian's workouts before. There are some that are right on the money and there are some that are quite intense. This one was a pleasant surprise. I am overweight but very strong, (size 12/14, 5'10"). This workout was short enough to complete but tough enough to feel. She was also motivating, not mean! I am looking forward to completing the program and getting back the body I used to have.

ReplyDeleteI ordered Jillian Michaels Body Revolution on 6/20/2012 (8:30 a.m.) and did not get confirmation e-mail so called to check told I'd get e-mail. Called on 6/22/2012 to see about e-mail (still nothing not even tracking) told my item shipped and promised tracking e-mail. finally got tracking e-mail on 6/23/2012. Item should arrive on 6/27/2012. I called in time on infomercial to get upgraded to express shipping so this will take 7 days for me to get? Without express it's 7 to 10 days so what is the point? I haven't gotten the item yet and already feel they have no customer service skills and are full of crap!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PROGRAM, I ALSO HAVE DONE OTHER 90 DAYS PROGRAMS ALTHOUGH THEY WORKED I DIDNT LOOK FORWARD TO WORKING OUT. THIS PROGRAM IS JUST ENOUGH OF STRENGTH AND CARDIO IN EACH PHASE. I AM IN PHASE 3 AND ITS KICKING MY BUTT IN A GOOD WAY. MY HUSBAND AND SON STARTING DOING THIS PROGRAM AS WELL AND ALSO LIKE IT BETTER THAN OTHER PROGRAMS WE HAVE DONE. DOESNT MATTER YOUR FITNESS LEVEL, YOU CAN ADJUST TO YOUR NEEDS. I THINK I WILL DO PHASE 2 AND 3 AGAIN AND AGAIN AFTER PROGRAM COMPLETE.
ReplyDeleteI love ths program and think it is awesome. As someone who had not exercised in years, I can tell you that the first week was a killer. My body soon reacted to the new exercise routine. I am starting my 8th week and love how there is not enough time to get bored with the exercises and how Jillian keeps making them more intense and changes it up. I have seen dramatic results in my body (mostly inches) that have me swimming in my clothes. I have enough strength now to push myself into doubling up on exercising twice a day for at least 3 out of the six day workouts. Great investment that you will not regret. I am looking forward to seeing what my body will look like at the end of the 90 day program. I am already receiving compliments. Jillian teaches you how to eat, what not to do. I am not sticking to her actual meals but have been eating healthy meals and sticking to the less than 1200 calories a day. I do not feel deprived and am not craving anything. Do yourself a favor and buy the program....the only thing you have to lose is weight!
ReplyDeletetotally going to try this!!! LOVE Jillian Michaels....Im currently doing other of her workout dvd's and they work wonders!! As long as you stick with it, eat clean and drink plenty of water!!!! Dont give up and do it!!!!

DeleteCan't wait to buy this!! I used to be a staggering 293lbs at 5'4" but a year ago I started doing intense cardio and strength training regimen. After about 6 months of that and 70lbs lighter I started Insanity which for me was just waaaay too hard! So I kicked up my normal regimen and dropped another 20lbs. Now I feel as if I've hit a plateau at 210 lbs so Im hoping this can help me drop another 30lbs. I'm actually going to try her diet plan even though my diet now is pretty clean so the transition shouldn't be too hard.
