Living healthy natural lives is not always the easiest thing, which is why I started my blog - to inspire and help others live their best life healthfully and naturally. I want to give you examples of how I am doing it through weekly updates, and I am hoping some of you will be willing to share your thoughts and ideas too.
So, here we go! I hope this helps and inspires all of you!
In my life this week...
We are recovering from the shock and stress of my 3 year old son's unexpected hernia surgery last weekend. He started complaining to me last Friday of stomach pains and thigh pains. After checking it out online and calling a nurse hotline, we took him into the ER about an hour later. The doctor ordered a CAT scan and said he needed surgery for an Inguinal Hernia (near his groin). What???? How does a 3 year old get a hernia??? Well, there is a little hole down near the groin that allows the testicles to pass through. The problem is, this hole never closes. So, the intestines can slip through there and cause a hernia. Yikes! A couple hours after hearing this news, my little baby had surgery. Very scary for me, but he was so brave! After 1 1/2 hours of endless waiting, the doctor came out and told us the surgery was very involved, but he did his best. He got most of the hernia, but couldn't get it all, because it was so low and so involved. However, things should be okay, and it shouldn't happen again on this side. Hooray! After all our prayers, our son was safe and on the road to recovery!
After spending a terrible night in the hospital, constantly being woken up by nurses and my son in a lot of pain, we finally got to go home! That is why we have all been recovering this week!
I am inspired by...
my family and friends who were all so concerned and helpful with their many thoughts and prayers. We feel your love!
My favorite thing this week was...
Watching my son run around the house just a few days after his surgery. I am not sure if he was supposed to be doing that, but he seems fully recovered, despite the incision cut that is still healing.
What's working/not working for me...
Working - Taking more time to play with my kids and home school my son. Even though he is only 3, he has a huge love for learning and is getting smarter every day! It is a privilege to teach him!
Not working - Still feeling nauseous, and for some reason I feel about 9 months pregnant, instead of 5 months. The aches and pains are really getting me!
Questions/thoughts I have...
How do people cope with hard times without having faith and trust in God? I don't know how I would have made it this past weekend...
Things I'm working on...
Trying to get my relationship with my hubby stronger and finding quality time for just the two of us. Getting motivated to cook again. It is so hard when all the smells and tastes just make me feel queasy.
I'm reading...
