Earth Day Tip #3

Ever heard of a locavore? They are someone who supports eating food that is locally produced, instead of being moved long distances before it is sold and consumed. Obviously there are huge benefits for the earth, as well as for the nutrition in your food by eating locally.

Today's challenge will make you all locavores for the day.
Find out where the food you eat comes from and, for one day, try eating food that originates within a 100 mile radius of where you live. This is not as hard as it may seem.

Here are a few tips:
-Find your local co-op and shop there.
-Find a local farmers' market and cook an entire meal with what you buy there.
-Check out localharvest.org or eatwellguide.org for some more great resources.

Have fun!
