Healthy Protein Smoothee Recipes

I have been drinking 180 shakes to help me lose weight weight after having my second child, and I just love them! I also recommend them to all my fitness and nutrition clients. They have lots of protein to help you feel full for longer, leucine (an amino acid that helps you build muscle and burn fat), tons of good vitamins and minerals, 6 grams of fiber, and are made from non-GMO soy protein. Plus, you can use them as a healthy quick meal replacement, like I do, for only $2.72!

Personally, I love the chocolate the best, but they also have strawberry, cafe latte, and vanilla. I normally drink my chocolate shakes with about 1/2 glass of water and 1/2 glass of milk, but sometimes I like to mix it up with these super tasty recipes:

180 Chocolate Berry Parfait: (serves 2)

2 scoops Shaklee Chocolate 180 Energizing Smoothee Mix

8 oz. Plain organic yogurt

8 oz. fresh blueberries and raspberries, rinsed and mixed

1 small banana, sliced

First mix together the yogurt and Shaklee 180 smoothee mix thoroughly, then let sit in the freezer for a short while to “firm up” - how firm you like your parfait is a personal preference, but I let mine sit for 20 minutes or so.

Next, rinse and mix the blueberries and raspberries - you can slightly crush them if you like a juicy mixture, but since raspberries are naturally pretty sweet I don’t add any sugar or sweetener.

Serve the sliced banana and berries over top of the chocolate-yogurt mixture and enjoy!

Chocolate Orange Smoothie (one serving)

2 scoops Shaklee 180 Energizing Smoothee Mix (chocolate)

10 ounces of water OR unsweetened Soy Milk *

1 snack-size container of mandarin oranges (about 1/2 c.)

1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon **

Mix together well with a blender and enjoy!

* I don’t recommend using regular milk with this recipe as dairy products do not mix well with citrus fruits or juices and although they taste just fine, they tend to separate.

** Cinnamon is a well known appetite-suppressant, so you’ll feel full even longer

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup (one serving)

2 scoops or 1 packet 180 Chocolate Smoothee Mix

1 C milk or low-fat soy milk

1 tbsp. organic or natural peanut butter

4-6 ice cubes

Combine all these ingredients in a blender and blend until creamy. Yummy!!

You can find all the 180 Energizing Smoothee flavors in packet or shakes here, and if you want to get the Shaklee membership for 15% of this order and all future orders, all you have to do is place a $30 order, and you get the membership for free!! But, hurry, that awesome offer is only good until May 20, 2011.

  1. I am looking for protein powder or drinks for my husband.. Can i buy this powder at GNC? He just had the gastric bypass surgery and needs to have 75 grams a day of protein. He was using isopure until he went into anaphaltic shock and was in ICU for a few days. they think he is allergic to whey protein. so we are afraid to try something new now. but i was thinking of making a homeade shake for him

  2. Hi Jennifer!
Great question! No, you cannot get it at GNC. You can only get it through Shaklee online at www.caranitz.myshaklee.com. But, this would be a perfect thing for your hubby.
The other cool thing is that if you order this now, you will automatically get Shaklee's membership for free!! Just put the Cinch in your cart and add the $19.95 membership when you are done shopping, and you will get it for free. This will give you 15% off this order and all future orders. Let me know if you have any questions.
