Get Rid Of The MSG In Your Food

Have you heard of Glutamates or MSG? Well, they are flavor enhancers snuck into our food by processed food companies. We're talking everything from canned soups to canned tuna to ice cream to ranch dressing...not to mention snack foods are full of them!

What is the big problem with glutamates? Well, high levels of unnatural glutamates can mess with your brain chemistry. They are a form of excitotoxin, which have been shown to screw up the nervous system. They can also damage your leptin receptors. This all can lead to obesity and endocrine problems. Sound icky? It is!

These food companies want you to love their food, so you'll keep buying more and more, but you have the power to choose what you want to nourish your body, so stick to natural flavorful ingredients such as: parmesan cheese, fermented foods, garlic, onions, and so on.

Here is something tricky to watch out for in your processed food - hidden code words in the ingredient labels that most likely indicate glutamates:

  • autolyzed yeast
  • calcium caseinate
  • gelatin
  • glutamic acid
  • hydrolyzed corn gluten
  • monopotassium glutamate
  • monosodium glutamate
  • natrium glutamate
  • sodium caseinate
  • textured protein
  • yeast extract

Write these down and watch out for them the next time you are grocery shopping or just opt for organic versions so you know you will be safe!
