Living healthy natural lives is not always the easiest thing, which
is why I started my blog - to inspire and help others live their best
life healthfully and naturally. Friday Fun is my way of sharing a bit
of my life with you, my readers and friends, and I hope you will be
willing to share your thoughts and ideas with me too.
So, here we go!
In my life this week...
We were really busy, but we had a lot of fun. Tuesday night I got to leave the screaming kids with my husband and have a sister's night with my 5 sisters. It was great to hang out with them, get the low-down on how they are all doing, and just have girl time. We have been going on walks every day, trying to explore new areas of our city and find new parks to have fun in. We even saw turkeys, a woodchuck and a pear tree, right in the Twin Cities of MN!
I am inspired by...
my husband, again! He has been working really hard this week, and then on his first day off, (today) he makes me a treat, hangs out the laundry, vacuums the whole house and takes care of the kids while I am with a personal training client. Impressive, right? I love him!
My favorite thing this week was...
spending some time with a friend of mine and her three kids. We took our kids on a lovely afternoon walk through the woods together and we had a wonderful talk. We can both really relate to each other, and it is wonderful to encourage and strengthen each other's faiths as well.
What's working/not working for me...
Working
- My garden is certainly working. I have a bundle of cucumbers. So, we eat at least 2-3 cucumbers every day. We have a million tomatoes, which I am hoping will turn red soon. We have also been enjoying our other fresh herbs in salads, eggs, and other dishes every day. It is so much fun to go out and pick your own food for dinner!
Not
working - My kids have been a little more ornery and rude to me and each other. I think it may be that they are missing their daddy, since he hasn't been able to spend much time with them lately.
Questions/thoughts I have...
What fun things can we do in the next few days that my husband has off to really make the most of the last few gorgeous days of summer?
I'm reading...
The Girls in the Gatehouse by Julie Klassen, Once Upon a Prince by Rachel Hauck 1000 Gifts by Ann Voskamp, Health magazines
I'm cooking...
Chicken Tacos on Lettuce Wraps, My version of grain-free spaghetti - meat sauce with cooked broccoli and carrot slaw (sound weird, but tastes amazing!), Chicken salad on cucumbers, Cucumber salad, and I can't remember what else...
I'm grateful for...
a husband that treats me like a queen, sisters who I love and adore, friends who lift me up when I am feeling low, great books that tempt me to stay up till all hours of the night reading, and more...

I love this great pin I pinned onto my motivation board on Pinterest.
How terrific that you are growing a lot of cucumbers! I love home grown tomatoes also, and one day I will try a garden again. I like your motivation pin also!
