New Year's Eve Party Time!

I have spent too many New Year's Eves staying at home and falling asleep way before midnight. Now, there isn't anything wrong with that, but now that I live by my family and friends, I wanted to have a more exciting time than laying on my couch in pj's. So, I am having a party! Woot! Woot!

I know many holiday parties center around food and alcohol, so I wanted mine to be a little different. Yes, we will have plenty of food. Yes, we will have some alcohol. But, we will have food that is healthy and delicious. And we will do more than just sit, eat, and drink.

It is game time!

I love playing games that get people up and moving, laughing till they are clutching their bellies. So, I am planning some fun, Minute-to-Win-It games! In case you aren't familiar with that show, it is a competition to see who can finish the tasks assigned in a minute or less. They use everyday household items, and these tasks are no joke! They are hard, but so much fun to try to do, especially with people watching and cheering you on!

Here are a few of the Minute-to-Win-It games I am planning:

  • Stack 5 wooden baby blocks on top of plastic plate balanced on top of the head
  • In increments of 2, place pencils on the back of hand and then flip them off and catch all of them ending with 12

  • Move a tree ornament across the floor and into a target area by fanning it with a gift box.

  • Player must blow off 52 cards, leaving 1 on top of a glass bottle.

  • Players transfer 3 Christmas ornaments from one string to another using only their lips.

  • Stack 5 apples on top of each other.

Sound like fun? I think so! Why don't you invite a few friends over and try them too? If you so, make sure to let us know how they went.

Happy New Year Everyone!

  1. What fun. I have never played Minute-To-Win-It, but these games sound like fun. They are good for both adults or children and lend themselves to many sorts of get togethers. We don't do New Years Eve parties. My husband gets up at 4AM for work most days, so late nights are out.

Hope you have a great party and a wonderful 2013.
