Friday Fun!

Living healthy natural lives is not always the easiest thing, which is why I started my blog - to inspire and help others live their best life healthfully and naturally. I want to give you examples of how I am doing it through weekly updates, and I am hoping some of you will be willing to share your thoughts and ideas too.

So, here we go! I hope this helps and inspires all of you!

In my life this week...
It was another fast week that had some major ups and downs. It is amazing to me how one day at one moment you can feel so upset and then the next day things can turn around so drastically. I think it also has to do with your attitude and how resilient you are.

I am inspired by...
the miracle of birth. No, I haven't had my baby yet. But I was thinking that because pregnancy and birth are such miracles, that is the reason we mothers have babies. It is not really because we forget the pain, because I don't think you can ever forget the pain. I think it is because we get to witness and be a part of this fabulous miracle, and how can you resist that?

My favorite thing this week was...
playing at the park with my kids. My son conquered his fear of slides, and I was really proud of him!

What's working/not working for me...
Working - my workouts. I am still able to stay at almost the same intensity I have always been at in my Boot Camp workouts, and I am really proud of the strength I am building to give my baby a healthy place to live, a strong body to go through labor and bounce back afterwards.

Not working - Like I said, it has been a more emotional week in our family because of all the ups and downs and relationships were strained again. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right? :-)

Questions/thoughts I have...
What does the future hold?

Things I'm working on...
using up my garden produce in my cooking (which I am happy to do), cleaning and re-cleaning in order to feel prepared for the baby to be born, taking quiet moments each day to rest and relax, improving the communication with my husband when conflicts arise.

I'm reading...
Psalms in the Bible, a book about a runaway bride and what comes after such a big decision

I'm cooking...
healthy brownies (which ended up a little too healthy, if that makes sense), homemade veggie pizza, tacos, more zucchini bread, and hopefully making roasted chicken soon

I'm grateful for...
my mom, who has been doing a lot to help support me and my family lately! She is also coming to be here for my home birth hopefully next week.

A photo, video, link, or quote to share...

I just had to share this picture of my daughter. She is obsessed with trying to wear these glasses and every time I see this picture, I smile.

  1. Thank you for sharing with us! Congratulations on your baby! I am trying to jump and stay on this band wagon again. I do things to help mine and my family's health WHILE we are still not eating as great! But I am always looking for ways to get even better.

  2. Per you comment about never forgetting the pain, I think you do. I had painful back labor with our second daughter and with our son, was sent home when my contractions were 3 minutes apart. It was Thanksgiving and they didn't want to bother the doctor. I went into transition at home in our bedroom and everyone ways downstair and couldn't hear me. I held that baby in for the 20+ minute ride back to the hospital, just to have the doctor chew me out because I wasn't relaxed and wouldn't let the baby out. He was upset I had interrupted his Thanksgiving dinner. I remember there was pain, but don't remember the pain specifically, if that makes sense.

Your little one is a cutie. Our son had a fascination with some oversized glass frames at about the same age.
You are nesting, so that is a good sign you will deliver soon. You are lucky to have your mom coming to help. Best of luck.
