Here is my Mother's Day edition of Friday Fun! Before I get started I want to thank all of my readers that are mothers for all your hard work, tears, sense of humor, and love that you give your children every day. You are so special, and I appreciate you!!
In my life this week...
As a mom...I had fun teaching my 3 year old about coins and their worth. He made little booklets and practiced his reading as well. It was so funny that he thought his knuckles were the same word nickles! :-) We also had a great time visiting our Amish friends' farm and seeing their baby Chihuahuas. My one year old daughter just loved all the animals!!
I am inspired by...
my daughter's ability to forgive. Her brother hurts her or takes a toy away. Even before he comes back to apologize, she is trying to hug and kiss him. I could learn a lot from that!!
My favorite thing this week was...
seeing my little baby daughter inside of my tummy move around and make my skin wiggle around. I would put my book right on my belly, and she would try to wiggle it right off!
What's working/not working for me...
Working
- finally able to include both of my children in making meals. My son is a pro at being a chef with mommy, but my daughter has so many ants in her pants, she just cannot sit still while trying to help cook. She ends up making an enormous mess with everything that is sitting all over our cupboards. But, this week, I think we may have made a little progress!
Not
working - screaming. I am sick of the way each of my children get the other one going in a screaming match. They think it is funny. I think it is annoying and ear-splitting.
Questions/thoughts I have...
Am I giving my children all that they need? That is a constant question in my mind...
Things I'm working on...
trying to plan some really fun activities to do with my family before we have a new baby in the house in September.
I'm reading...
my favorite devotion book, which helps give me perspective at the end of each day and keeps me soooo thankful for all I have.
I'm cooking...
Taco Salad, Quinoa Salad, Vegetable Soup, Tofu Scramble
I'm grateful for...
my beautiful family!! And without my husband, I could never be the mother I am to my children!!
