Tupperware Review

Easy to work with, convenient cooking tools make healthy cooking a lot more enjoyable, don't you think? For instance, I just can't imagine what cooking was like before the blender. That is also how I feel about some of my Tupperware products.

I am sure most, if not all, of you have heard of Tupperware. But did you know: Tupperware brand products made their debut in 1946, the start of a revolutionary post-war period in history. For 60 years, Tupperware brand products have closely followed rollercoaster trends from the suburban movement to the 60's feminist revolution to '90s "cocooning" continually adding a unique organizational touch to the lives and kitchens across the nation.

I grew up with a lot of Tupperware in my kitchen, but when when I started living a more conscious life and learning about toxins, I stopped using Tupperware and started using glass. The reason I did this was because some plastics leach dangerous chemicals into our food, and I don't even want to take a chance with that.

HOWEVER - I recently looked at the safety of Tupperware again, and I feel they have improved over the years, and I think most of their products are safe. You always want to stay away from plastics with a #3 or #7. I also advise against microwaving anything in a plastic container.(Then again, I advise against microwaving anything, period)

Also, I do commend Tupperware for being a very green choice when it comes to storing food. How many plastic baggies are wasted and thrown into landfills after just holding a sandwich or some leftovers? Tupperware can be reused time and time again, and I really appreciate that!

Having said all of that, I want to show you three Tupperware products today that I think are super handy for the kitchen, and I hope they help you do more healthy cooking.

The Chop 'N Prep Chef is the next best thing to a blender or food processor. It is cute and compact, and it is also easy to use. You just pull the cord and it turbo chops fresh herbs, vegetables, berries, cheeses and more in record time. I love how it saves time and effort while eliminating the cost of expensive electricity.  I don't know about you, but I hate chopping fresh herbs by hand, so this is wonderful! I will be using this all the time once my garden is in full bloom. Hmmmm...I can smell the fresh pesto already.

Lately, I have been making my own salad dressing for my lunchtime salads.  It is super easy, tasty and very healthy! I add my extra virgin olive oil, apple cider vinegar and a few herbs into the Quick Shake Container, shake it up, open the lid, and pour. Then, I put it back on the cupboard until the next day, when I just shake and pour again. It is super easy and wayyyy healthier for you than store bought dressings with tons of additives and junk hidden inside.

The Onion Keeper is one of my favorite gadgets. I always had the hardest time finding a container to keep my leftover onion in. Then, once the onion was used up, the container would smell like onions for weeks. Ughh! But, now I am free from the onion odor!! The Onion Keeper has a snap closure that ensures the onions maintain their freshness and flavor while helping you eliminate waste. Genius idea! I love it!
The best part about all of these tools is that they are all reasonably priced, so you can save money, waste less, and live a little greener.  You can find all of these tools under the Cook's Tools section of their website. Head on over, check them out, and make your healthy cooking easier! While you are there, check out their new Eco By Tupperware products.

*Tupperware provided me products to review, and I was under no obligation to review if I so chose. Nor was I under any obligation to write a positive review in return for the free product.*
