Taking Charge of Food Thoughts

One thing that I have realized in my loooong journey with food, dieting, and health is that eating is more of a mental thing than a physical thing.

Am I really hungry?

Do I NEED to eat that? Or am I bored, thirsty, tired, stressed?

Am I full? Do I need a third helping or just want one?

Why do I reach for chocolate when stressed?

Do I need to eat snacks?

See what I mean? Mental...Sometimes I think it is crazy how mental it all is. After all, it is JUST food.
Take Charge of Your Life Through Your Eating Habits
Well, for the next month or so, I am going to try to help us all straighten out the craziness in our heads that comes along with thinking about food. Let's take charge of our eating instead of letting old patterns, lies we have told ourselves, and routines we grew up with run our decision making about food.

Each day, I will post just a short tip or piece of helpful information from the book, Take Charge of Your Eating, by Laura Pirott to get us back in charge of our eating! Cheers to change!

  1. This book - Take Charge of Your Eating seems like a terrific book to read and help all of us regarding food and our eating habits. I know I can eat more or sometimes less from stress. Being bored can certainly make us eat more! Any tips from this book would be appreciated!
