Is Chiropractic Care Right For You?

I know so many people who are scared of chiropractic care, and it makes me so sad. I believe that chiropractic care is a very safe way to keep your body in good health, and it affects more than just your back, so even if you don't have back problems, you could still benefit hugely from seeing a chiropractor.

What you may not realize about your spine is that there are a ton of important nerves that come off of it, and when those nerves are pinched or your vertebrae gets misaligned, it can affect your body in so many ways - from digestive troubles to headaches, from sinus pain to joint pain, and so much more!

While different chiropractors use a variety of adjusting techniques, I have never had a chiropractor that I didn't think did a great job with me or my family, and we have even had our little children adjusted. (Remember, birth is very hard on babies spines!)

I have just found a new chiropractor for our family, and once again, I am very pleased with her! When I was shopping around for our new chiropractor, I looked for specific things such as:
-Does our insurance cover them?
-What is their education and experience?
-Are they family friendly?
-Does their philosophy of natural medicine and natural healing align with my own?

Much of this information you can find by visiting the office website, and most chiropractor's have websites these days. This Stockton chiropractor is a great example of what you will want to look for in your area.

I hope I have helped take some of the scariness out of chiropractic care. As with everything, do some research, think about what's best for your family, and feel good about your decision!

  1. My one chiropractic experience was horrible (caused a frozen neck for about a week, and severe pain for about a month,) but I have friends who really benefit from it. As a former massage therapist, I'd like to add that massage enables your body to naturally re-align itself without directly manipulating joints/the spine. The adjustment is more gradual, though, and it can also be a great addition to your chiropractic treatment. (Just be sure to tell the MT about your existing treatment!)

    1. Ah yes....massage! I love that too! I wish that health insurance covered it easier. But, I always ask for a good massage for gifts. :-)

  2. I haven't had any case or experience with a chiropractor that will make want to curse them forever. I am still enjoying the benefits of chiropractic care and it is helping a lot with the back pain that I've been having. A massage sounds good too, but I need a much deeper stride for bones to be realigned again. Haha!
