I am hooked on exercise. I have been leaving my house to work out 3-4 times a week for the past year or so. I’d like to work out some more, but, find myself less than motivated to do so at home. Well, until now. Yesterday, I received CLEAN Momma DVD to review. This video by Carolyn Barnes teaches you how to get lean while you clean.
I popped in the video to see what it was all about. First, you should see Carolyn! I have never admired someone’s arms so much! This momma is buff! From the start, her big smile and quirkiness had me interested. She is really smart too. Here are a few things she taught me through her video:
First and foremost, being fit is like a triangle, multitasking and diet build the sides, but your mindset is the base. You have to get your mind set towards fitness! She teaches you to spread out your house work fitness throughout your day.
Carolyn walks you through her top ten exercises. Some of my favorites are the rag drag, relocating lunges and counter top kick-outs. Today, I found myself doing a lot of rag drags, which means you either put your feet on rags (for wood floors) or in bags (for carpets) and slide your legs out (10 on each side) while doing dishes or laundry…..try it, you won’t want to stand still while doing chores any more.
She also encourages you to stretch….lots of times throughout the day. One of the best things I learned from her was that you should work out more often. Try combining it with what you are doing - whether it is laundry, dishes, or vacuuming. One of my favorite tips was to challenge yourself by doing 10 push ups on the counter every time you put something in the sink….she thinks you can easily get in 200 per day. For arms like hers, you bet I will try!
