Home Lighting Makeover and Giveaway

Cara received product to review. No other compensation was given. All opinions expressed are 100% her own.

It's a new year, and everyone has goals and ideas for things they want to accomplish this year. We just bought our house in late 2012, so one of my goals for this year is to work on several home improvement projects that have been nagging at me.

Sometimes those small and easy projects can make a huge difference in the way your home looks and feels. We recently switched out a few of our lightbulbs for the new GE reveal® light bulbs. They bring out colors & patterns that can go unnoticed. Plus, these new GE reveal bulbs are one of the most energy efficient bulbs around. Swapping your current bulbs for the reveal bulbs is a quick and easy way to fill any space with beautiful, energy efficient light!

Check out our before and after pictures of our downstairs hallway:

You can see how much brighter the GE bulb is than the old one. The new GE reveal® also takes a lot of that yellowish tint out, which I think makes it look a lot less drab and dull. It is such an easy way to add more clean, beautiful light to transform all the rooms of your home.

Plus, let's not forget the awesome energy efficiency of the GE reveal® bulb. These bulbs can last over a decade, based on three hours of usage a day! That is one efficient bulb!

To see how quick and easy a reveal® lighting makeover can be, watch this fun and stylish new video GE Lighting created featuring four hip West-Coast tastemakers who depend on the best lighting possible for their craft, as they complete a GE reveal® makeover and share their authentic experience.
Not only are GE reveal® LED bulbs available almost exclusively at Target, but there you can find great prices and savings on all GE reveal® solutions. Target’s Cartwheel App provides savings for in-store purchases of GE reveal (as well as many of the other items you’ll likely need in the upcoming months).
Simply download Target’s money-saving Cartwheel app, (available on Apple IOS here and Android here), select the GE reveal (and any other savings you need) and head to your local Target for great deals! You can find a current discount on Cartwheel for 25% off reveal by searching for “GE reveal”.  Offer expires 2/28/14.

  7. Indeed, sometimes it’s the small things that make a huge difference. One of the things that tend to be overlooked in home makeovers is the lighting scheme. This should be an integral part, as it accentuates allure of the room’s design, and can help set the overall mood as well. I’m not completely in favor of white light against the yellow, since that should depend on the need of area for illumination. In your case, it’s a downstairs hallway, thus a brighter light is most appropriate.
