Do You Have a Nutrient Deficiency?

Are you aware that Americans typically lack a sufficient amount of the minerals calcium, magnesium, and potassium and the vitamins A, C, D, and E needed to maintain good health? Yup, and that is straight from the mouth of the USDA.

Did you also know that the more of these critical vitamins and minerals that you are missing in your diet, the more nutritional studies are liking you to some of the most prevalent, life-threatening chronic diseases out there, such as diabetes, heart disease, stroke, obesity, high blood pressure, and more...

But, it's not all doom and gloom. You can do something about it. In fact, you can do a lot of somethings about it.

Three Great Varieties and Fourteen tasty flavors to choose from!
As I was made aware of these deficiencies, I immediately started eating more real, whole plant based foods. Fruits and veggies are an awesome way to get more nutrients into your diet and cut out the crappy processed foods. One of the coolest new ways to do this is through Crunchies, the leading freeze-dried fruit and veggie brand in the country. This way, if you are on the go, you can still eat roasted veggies, strawberries, or edamame by the handfull! Pretty cool, if you ask me.

After adding in more real, whole foods, I next decided to search high and low for the best quality supplement I could find, because even though I wish I was living a nutritionally perfect life, I know with the way food is grown, shipped, stored and cooked these days, I am not. After lots of research, I decided on Shaklee's Vitalizer Women. Why? Well, they are the company I trust the most for their purity, quality control, and effectiveness. They have been giving us high quality, natural, safe products for over 50 years(even when it is wasn't the cool "it" thing to do). They are pretty much the gold standard for supplements, in my humble opinion.

Regulat – Organic Whole Food ConcentrateLately, I have also been trying out this new product I was sent, Regulat. I love it because it is the only concentrated whole food supplement produced by patented cascade fermentation and provides the body with a ton of bio-available phytonutrients and enzymes. You just pour a little in your water in the morning and a little at supper, and you get a ton of good nutrients and probiotics.
Regulat is a natural preparation of essential phytonutrients and probiotic substances. It gives the immune system an extra boost, promotes a healthy blood environment, supports the digestive system and neutralizes free radicals.

Another thing I like to watch out for is sugar. It is an anti-nutrient, in my opinion. But, without sugar, what do you have? Plenty of things! One of my most recent faves is a snack called Mac and Mo’s. They are little bites that are made of wholesome, locally sourced ingredients to create no-salt, no-added-sugar treats that you can enjoy guilt-free. And by guilt free, I mean it. These treats are a labor of love from a daughter to her dad and beyond. Mo wanted to make a baked good that her father, who had suffered two massive heart attacks, underwent a quadruple bypass surgery, and is a diabetic. These little morsels have 1 gram of sugar each. Yes. That's right. One. Nothing artificial, no GMO's, no junk. My favorite is, of course, the Chocolate Chip morsels. My son loves the Pumpkin Cranberry best!

These are just a few of the things you can do to add those much-needed nutrients back into your diet! What are your favorites?
