I had never heard of itti bitti until a few weeks ago, and I am glad that I found out about them. Their cloth diapers are so unique!
Itti bitti was established late in 2005, when Australian mom to two and cloth diaper lover Sue McLachlan, designed a uniquely shaped, fitted cloth diaper to suit her itty bitty daughter. Unhappy with the bulk of many diapers, which were especially large on a small baby, Sue’s design was very trim, much trimmer than anything else on the market. The slim crotch and high cut shape of the front suits not just small babies but those with chubby legs as well, with a super snug fit making them truly as tiny as a disposable. The low rise means a fantastic fit under clothes designed for disposables too. The diapers were named after Sue's itty bitty daughter as she was the inspiration for the design.
Itti bitties were incredibly popular, and within just a few months, they became one of the most sought after diapers in Australia. The popularity increased so much that the diapers were often sold within minutes of them being released, sometimes the demand even causing the website to crash! Thankfully it has now become much easier to get hold of an itti bitti, with production increasing substantially to meet the demand. They are a huge favorite in Australia, and now they are also sold in countries all over the globe!
I received the bitti tutto and bitto boo. I know, what cute names! I am having a blast saying these names over and over again with my son and daughter. Too fun!
The bitti tutto is a one size diaper that will fit your child from newborn on. Love that! This is also a really flexible diaper. It comes with five different ways to customize the absorbency. Let me try to show you.
Here is the bitti tutto diaper with all the soaker pads in it. You can see that there are colored snaps, so you have an easy way to figure out which pads go where.
Then, you just fold the pads over and put it on your little one. You can see that it is SUPER absorbent with all the pads in.
Here is the bitti tutto on my daughter. It is about as chunky with all the pads in as any other cloth diaper with good absorbency. I also love that I don't have to worry about any leaks, including 'pooplosions' with this diaper. It has their patented 'poo fence,' which is an internal gusset that protects the sides and back to give you double protection. The thing I love the most about this diaper is that it is so absorbent. There are times I put it on my daughter with all the pads, and I end up reusing the cover and 1/2 the pads, because she only soaks the top layer. How awesome is that?
