Litter Free Lunch Review and Giveaway

Here comes school and all the fun that comes with that!

I want to share with you a new way we can live greener, make a difference and save money in the process. Litter Free Lunch helps you do all that as you make small changes in your child's lunch products. They offer reusable snack bags, sandwich bags, napkins and more that will help you reduce waste. It is no wonder that the founders of this company are both moms who have a lot of experience with school lunches!

Did you know that a household of four that replaces paper napkins with reusable cloth ones could save $70 per year or more on napkin costs, and reduce their waste by up to 40 pounds per year. If every household made this shift, we could prevent 1.5 million tons of paper napkin waste from entering the landfill each year. And that is just napkins!!

I received a Go Green Trio, which includes: 1 sandwich bag, 1 snack bag, and 1 cotton napkin. I have never used anything like this, so I was pretty excited about it. I really hate using plastic lunch bags anyways, because who knows what is leaching into our food from those? The sandwich and snack bag have plenty of room in them for what they need to hold. I also love that each piece has a little tag where you can write your child's name, because all of us mothers and teachers know how easily things can get lost at school. The trio comes in a variety of colors, so if you want to get each one of your children a different color, you can!

If you are interested in even more tips on having a litter free lunch, check these out.

You can order your Go Green Trio or some of their other products today! Just head on over to their website and grab all your favorites. Start saving money and our environment today! Remember, every little thing you do DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!

One of my fabulous readers is going to get the chance to make a difference by using Litter Free Lunch's reusable napkins. We are giving away a set of their royal blue 100% cotton lunchbox napkins!!!

Hip Hooters Organic Nursing Pads Review and Giveaway

I love spreading the love about new products that I receive that are eco-friendly and help all of us moms save money and keep our families safe. I especially love spreading the love when I am supporting a small business and when the owner is so friendly and great to work with! I have found all of those things as I have worked with Hip Hooters Etsy Shop.

First of all, I love that I have found an organic, eco-friendly alternative to conventional breastfeeding pads that are quite wasteful. These are just as easy, and they are even safer for you and your baby, not to mention the Earth.

These reusable nursing pads are made of layers of soft flannel, organic bamboo and cotton, cotton fabric, and PUL.(which means liquid proof cloth) Why is bamboo used? Besides being an awesome eco-friendly option, it is also one of the few fibers that are naturally antibacterial. No sprays or chemicals are used, therefore reducing the chances of allergies and skin conditions. Inherent thermal characteristics offer great breathe ability; wicking moisture away from the body.

I received two sets of these nursing pads, which are so cute and fashionable. (I know, nursing pads can be cute!) I picked out the cute cupcake design and the beautiful sky design. They have these pretty scalloped edges that make you feel so feminine, even while you are leaking.

Moo!! So Funny! Love this one!!
So cute and feminine!

The PUL layer makes sure that there is no leaking with these nursing pads, and you can easily wash these, laying them flat or tumble to dry. They are so convenient and so cute, you just can't pass them up! Honestly, I couldn't find anything that I didn't like about these nursing pads.

You can order your own today in the Hip Hooters Etsy Shop, or you can win 2 SETS OF YOUR OWN HIP HOOTERS right here on Your World: Healthy and Natural.

It's so easy to enter this lovely giveaway, just fulfill the mandatory entry first and then go for as many other entries as you want! Good luck everyone!

Libre Tea Review

A couple of weeks ago, we had a great tea event and many of you won some fabulous organic teas that I am sure you have been enjoying or are looking forward to enjoying!

Today, I want to introduce you to a company that makes the tea drinking experience even easier and more relaxing. Whether you are at home or on the go, you can enjoy your favorite loose leaf teas with the Libre Tea glass. Libre Tea makes specialized tea glasses designed for drinking loose leaf tea on the go. Just take along your favorite loose leaf tea, pour it into the glass and add hot water. To see a demonstration of how this glass brews the tea, check this video out. They also have a helpful page on their website that walks you through how to use the Libre tea glass.

I received the glass n glass Libre Tea glass. The interior wall of the vessel is glass so there are none of the health risks usually posed by synthetic drinking vessels. Then, the outer wall is glass too. You can also get the glass n poly, which has a durable polycarbonate outer wall.

These glasses are very beautiful and so unique. They are also quite inexpensive, which is also a bonus. I love how the stainless steel filter keeps the tea leaves away from your mouth and can be removed just be unscrewing it for easy cleaning.

I have never seen anything like this, and I think it is pure genius!! I love loose leaf tea, but it is more of a pain to make a cup of tea that way, in my opinion. Now that I have this glass, it is so easy!! And it is so easy to take with you anywhere you want to go - to run some errands, head to school or work, or go meet up with a few friends.

Head on over to Libre Tea and get your own tea glass today! It will make your tea drinking experiences even that much better!

Comfy Rumps Cloth Diaper Review and Giveaway

If you are looking to switch from disposable diapers to cloth diapers in an easy, really affordable way, you are going to love this cloth diaper company - Comfy Rumps. They use a one piece system that snaps right into place, so that you don't have to worry if you are putting on the cloth diaper in the right way. It is just as easy as a disposable.

I received a Velcro PUL diaper. The outer layer doesn't allow leaking, the inner layer is made of soft gentle microfleece, and there is a microfiber soaker that you just insert right in the slit at the top of the diaper. It lasts for 3-4 hours.

I like how this diaper has snaps in the front that allow you to adjust the size to fit your baby as he/she grows bigger and bigger. I also like how easy it is to work with, and I love the price! This diaper is only $8.75, so Comfy Rumps makes it super affordable to make this eco-friendly change over to cloth diapers.

I also love how Comfy Rumps has a great page on their website that gives tips on how to care for their diapers, detergent suggestions, and information on stripping cloth diapers. Really helpful!

DyPeas Cloth Diaper Review

Oooooh! I love the organic cloth diaper that I am reviewing today! MilliLee sent me a beautiful dark pink organic cloth diaper! Her etsy shop, DyPeas, is full of stylish cloth diapers, so you can choose from a variety of designs that are your favorite to fit into your eco-friendly choice of cloth diapering.

I loved working with MilliLee! She is so helpful, and you can tell all the care and concern that she puts into every product. She sent me a really helpful sheet to go with my diaper. She listed washing instructions, how to keep your DyPeas at tip top shape, and great tips on cloth diapering. I loved how she added her personal experiences and personal advice.

My beautiful organic cloth diaper is so great! First of all, I love that I don't have to worry one bit about what kind of chemicals will be touching my baby's skin. The outer layer is made of 100% organic cotton. The inside, which touches baby's bottom, is made of this lovely soft organic Sherpa cotton. And even after washing this diaper, it was still so soft. Just the perfect thing that you want up against your little one's bottom! Here is a picture of my diaper:

I love that this is a complete diaper with no need for a diaper cover. There is a little insert that you can take out for washing and drying to make it dry faster, which is something I have had to work through with other cloth diapers. Overall, I give this organic diaper two thumbs way up!

Check out all of MilliLee's beautiful designed cloth diapers. She also has changing pads and wash cloths in her store. Take some time and browse around her shop! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask MilliLee. She is such a lovely lady!

Benefits of Using Cloth Diapers

So, guess what? We are going to be having some awesome cloth diaper reviews/giveaways coming up, and before we do that, I wanted to make sure everyone knew how awesome using cloth diapers is, not only for your baby, but for your budget and the environment!

Here are some health reasons to choose cloth diapers:

  • Conventional disposables contain traces of Dioxin, a carcinogenic chemical, listed by the EPA as the most toxic of all cancer linked chemicals! Yikes!! It is banned in most countries, but not in the US. That is so sad...

  • Conventional disposables contain Trubutyl-tin(TBT) a toxic pollutant known to cause hormonal problems in humans and animals.

  • Chemicals and fragrances in some disposables can cause asthma.

  • Studies have shown there is less diaper rash with cloth than with disposables.

I don't know about you, but those are some very compelling reasons to make the switch! There are some "better" options for disposables such as 7th Generation and Nature BabyCare, but those happy little smiling babies in the Huggies commercials are not as safe as they appear.

There are even more Environmental reasons to use cloth diapers:

  • Disposable diapers use 2 times as much water to manufacture as cloth.

  • Disposables use 3 times more energy than cloth.

  • Disposables use 20 times more raw materials than cloth.

  • Disposables generate 60 times more waste than cloth.

  • Disposables are the 3rd largest single consumer item in landfills. Oh my!!

  • No one knows how long it takes for a disposable diaper to decompose, but it is estimated to be about 250-500 years.

Now, granted, you do have to take a little more time to care for cloth diapers, but what benefits there are in the short and long run!! If the reasons I listed above aren't enough to think about switching or at least using some cloth diapers, think of all the money you will save, you frugal parents!!

Look forward to learning about some really awesome cloth diaper options, starting tomorrow!

If anyone has any more benefits of cloth diapering, please share!!

Review of Supermarket Smarty

I know that it is an ongoing process to eat healthier, which really starts with shopping healthier. I always tell my clients that if you don't have it in your house, you can't eat it when you have the cravings or "think" you need it. So, it is always best to just stock up on the foods that will nourish you and energize you.

Now, there is this really cool shopping helper that I want to share with you today - the Supermarket Smarty. What is it? Well, it is a reusable fold-up grocery shopping checklist with so much more!! Here are a few more cool features:

  • write on, wipe off with the marker that comes with

  • has nutrition symbols to help you decifer what really is healthy and why

  • has a section for meal planning and notes

  • coupon pocket

  • little magnifying lens built in so you can read those tiny nutrition labels

  • helpful grocery shopping tips and advice on the healthiest options

  • comes with a little magnetic clip that you can attach right to your fridge, so you don't lose it

I used to use little scraps of paper for my grocery list, but this is so much better, because I don't have to try to read my own notes squished into little scraps of paper, and it is so eco-friendly to re-use the Supermarket Smarty over and over again!

The Supermarket Smarty really has a large list of anything you can think of that you would need to buy at the grocery store. Sometimes as I scan it, I think of something that I forgot that I need. My favorite thing about the Supermarket Smarty is the symbol key and symbols found by healthy food. She has symbols for good source of soluble fiber, best things to buy organic, healthy fat, lean protein, whole grain, superfood, good source of Omega-3 fatty acids, and so on. You get the idea. It is so helpful when trying to make healthy decisions!! You'll love it!

You can buy your own Supermarket Smarty for only $9.99 here! Make shopping just that much easier!

Storkie Review

As we are getting ready for our little daughter to be born, we are already starting to get some beautiful baby gifts! I am really big on thank yous, because I really do appreciate people's thoughtfulness and want to show them that. I love to make my own cards, and have been doing that for several years, but with so much else going on right now, and with the number of thank yous I may have to make, I decided it would be best to just order some cute cards!

That is where Storkie comes in! They make the most beautiful cards for any occasion. I especially liked looking through their baby thank you cards, baby shower invitations , birth announcements, and Christmas cards. They have so much to choose from! When I was picking out baby thank you cards, I loved how they had neutral options, as well as boy and girl options. I finally picked out this cute footprints thank you card. I personalized it to say "Thank you from the Nitzes" in my favorite color and font, and I even had our address put on the envelope to make it even easier for me to send these thank yous out.

When I received my cards and envelopes in the mail, I loved them! They are just as beautiful as they were on the computer, and I cannot wait to start using them.

I would definitely recommend Storkie for all your stationery needs. Like I said before, they have everything from graduation to wedding to baby products. So, check out Storkie today!

Congratulations Winners!

Today our winners for the Shutterfly Giveaway are

#4 Shairbearg and #8 Johanna!!!

Congratulations, Ladies! I will be emailing you your codes for not 12, but 24 free cards for each of you!!

Barbara's Bakery Review and Giveaway

I am sure some of you have heard or seen Barbara's Bakery items in the natural/organic section of your grocery store. I know I have. I was on a Barbara's Bakery Shredded Oats kick for awhile, after switching from the Quaker Oats Oatmeal Squares. The reason why I switched from Quaker Oats to Barbara's Bakery was that Barbara's is such a healthier, more natural option.

Now, Barbara's Bakery is going through a natural makeover, and I want to share a little about it with you. They are celebrating 40 years of natural food heritage with four new delicious cereals and a completely new sustainable carton design.

Barbara's proudly debuts three new High Fiber cereals, each offering at least 40 percent of daily fiber needs and 50 percent whole grains. They are also offering new Multigrain Puffins, the newest addition to the popular Puffins cereal line, with gluten free and Prebiotic NutraFlora health benefits.

And get this - starting this fall, all Barbara's cereals come in 100% recycled, sustainable GreenChoice cartons. That is North America's only certified recycled paperboard. Kudos to Barbara's for such an eco-friendly upgrade!!

Like I said before, my personal fav of Barbara's cereals is the Original Shredded Oats. I love how it stays crunchy on the inside while getting a little soft on the outside from my milk. Hmmm... I just love them!!

I also tried out their Puffins Original, which I haven't tried before. I thought it would be similar to the Shredded Oats, but it wasn't. They are crunchier and have an added sweetness. I did like them quite a bit, though not as much as my hubby!

Another variety I liked was the Shredded Minis Blueberry Burst. It was quite tasty, and I am huge fan of blueberries! Perfect morning meal!

Their newest addition, the Multigrain Puffins, were really quite good too. They only have 6 grams of sugar, which is nice. And they are gluten free, which is great for those of you on that diet. The only downside to this one was the caramel color in the ingredients. I am just not a fan of any added colors.

One of my favorite things about the cereal line is that many of them, my favs included, have a great amount of protein. For instance, Shredded Oats has 6 grams of protein per serving! I loved that, because our need for protein is so great!

Barbara's Bakery is encouraging us all to have our own all-natural food makeover by entering their Natural Makeover Contest. All you have to do is share a video of your family's worst food habits, your questions about eating natural foods, or what you've done to try and change your family's habits. Submit this video by Nov. 30, 2010, and you will be in the running to win:

  • A private consultation with celebrity nutrtionist Cheryl Forberg, RD and

  • A trip to Napa Valley, where Barbara's first started

You can read more on their website here.

Love This Video Clip!

Besides my family and my fitness jobs, my other great passion is natural healthy living. I didn't get into this until about three years ago, but I have jam packed as much learning as I can in those years about organics, toxins, natural living, and the way nutrition supplements can heal our bodies.

I think I have shared with you before about my poor health in my early twenties, which is pretty sad. I suffered from migraines, fertility issues, depression, joint pain, and the list goes on... Needless to say, I was sick of medications, and I was sick of doctors telling me one thing after another that wasn't really going to heal my body. I started looking into organic living and getting some of the toxins out of my house. Then, a friend shared with me her new home business with the #1 nutrition company in the US - Shaklee. After a lot of research,(yes, I am quite skeptical) I decided to try their nontoxic cleaners, so I bought those up, and then I decided to give their vitamins and supplements a try.

After a week, my migraines were gone, and after a month, I was off all medication and feeling better and better!!! That all just catapulted me to dig further and further into finding out how to get our home safer by getting more toxins out, replacing all of our food with organic, local food, and using supplements to heal and get our bodies the nutrients they need to function best.

I know many of you are on the same path as I am - working to do the best for you and your family!! You know your stuff, so when I came across this video that really explains the difference between supplement companies and how Shaklee (the company I trust) is helping people get their health back, I knew I had to share this with all of you!! So, check this video out! I think it is like 4-5 minutes long, and you will love it!

I am on a mission! I want to help all those moms out there that are throwing up their hands in frustration, either with their own health problems or a family member's. I just started working with a mom the other day whose son has Autism, and she suffers from a lot of stress and all the health issues that follow that. They are both already noticing a difference in their health after one week of taking some basic Shaklee supplements. You have no idea how that makes my whole day!! Another victory against the fight we are having in our country against terrible health and the first generation where our children are looking to live shorter lives than their parents!

If you have any questions at all about good health, supplements, starting your own Shaklee home business, or just want to vent about your health concerns, please email me or leave a comment. I love to hear from other moms like myself! We can lend such amazing support to each other!
If you want to know more about Shaklee or great health, please visit my website and take your time learning as much as you want!

Pippalily Review

Continuing on with our Welcome Baby Blog Event, I am going to share with you another wonderful company from a mom just like us. Victoria, from Pippalily, is dedicated to providing all of us other mothers with products that are so helpful and practical, but also really stylish and fun!

When I visited her website, my eyes of course went right to her organic section. I looked into the toy straps, and knew they would be very useful with my new baby, as well as my toddler. You can fasten one side to the stroller, car seat, or shopping cart. You can attach the opposite side to whatever toy or item that your child needs or wants with them. And they come in three cute designs.

It has been really helpful in keeping my son's sippy cups and snack containers right with him, so he can't throw them on the floor. I am also looking forward to using it with my new baby to hold her pacifier or teether. The thing I love most about this toy strap was that it is made of organic cotton, because I know how much babies love to chew and gnaw on any kind of strappy thing they can get their hands on. Now, I will know that her strap is free of chemicals and unnecessary toxins. Wahoo!

Check out all Pippalily products, including the slings, baby wraps, and accessories. They are so refreshingly stylish and cute! You can also find Pippalily on Facebook for some neat deals and updates.

Right On the Walls Review and Giveaway!

We moved into our new house about one year ago exactly, and ever since then, I have been dying to decorate some of my walls with a beautiful wall decal. That is why I was so excited to receive a beautiful wall decal from Right on the Walls. I was so impressed with Right on the Walls. First of all, they have such a variety of wall decals. They even have a real working wall clock decal and chalkboard designs you can write on!!

I received a wall decal with my favorite saying on it - "Dream as if you'll live forever. Live as if you only have today." I put it right up in our living room, and it is so beautiful!! I want to show you a before and after picture so you can see for yourself how beautiful it is!

Now, I am not usually a really good do-it-yourselfer, but this little project was so fun and really easy! If you are suffering from overloaded Mommy brain like I sometimes am, you will be relieved to know there aren't that many steps, and it is really clear how to follow them.

I am a big fan of Right on the Walls now, and I hope to order some of their other products in the future! Check out all their beautiful products here and check back often, because they introduce new designs a lot.

Inspired By Finn Baltic Amber Jewelry Review and Giveaway

You know, before I was a mom, I used to wear a lot more jewelry...Why is it that I don't wear as much anymore?? Probably that I don't have time to think about what I look like, and also I am usually in workout clothes teaching a fitness class or working out.

However, lately I have been wearing this beautiful baltic amber necklace from Inspired By Finn. I had really never heard of baltic amber jewelry and all the benefits of wearing it. As I have been learning about all the benefits, I knew I had to share this awesome info with all of you!

Did you know that baltic amber is fossilized tree resin, and it has been used for years as a natural and traditional remedy for many ailments. When baltic amber is worn on the skin, the skin's warmth releases trace amounts of healing oils from the amber. Baltic Amber has some of the highest concentrations of Succinic Acid found in nature, and that is what makes it so special!

Here is how baltic amber can help you:

-Pain relief: Baltic amber contains analgesic properties and helps take the edge off many discomforts such as: arthritis, headaches, joint pain, menstrual cramping, and more.

-Breaking Cycles of Inflammation: Where chronic inflammation is present, disease lurks. It is really important to break this cycle and stop the body's production of free radicals.

-Restore Energy: The human body naturally produces succinic acid. The salt of the succinic acid is one of the most active substances in the process of cellular energy creation. Who doesn't want more energy??

They are not saying that wearing baltic amber will cure all that you are suffering with, but it has been a proven benefit to many people! I say, "Hey, the necklace is pretty, and I am not going to deny wearing something I like that may also have great benefits for my health!" If you would like to read stories of how it has helped others, check this out.

I put on the baltic amber necklace that I received almost immediately, and have not taken it off since, except in the shower. You want to wear them as much as possible to feel the benefits. I was a little worried that my necklace may not go with all the things I am wearing, but it is a pretty neutral color (almost the color of my skin) and you can tuck it under your clothes too.

I have been very excited about baltic amber, it natural and safe healing, and I just love Inspired By Finn! Check out their products here. They have products for children and adults, bracelets, earrings and so much more!!

I am just thrilled to tell you that we are going to be giving away one of these fabulous products right here!! The winner can select anything 16 inches or SMALLER that is in stock.

Zucchinis Galore!!

I don't know if I have mentioned this yet, but this is our first year at having our own organic garden, and we are loving it!! Our veggies are growing great! (except for our broccoli, which got eaten by something)

But, I have a little bitty problem. I have so many zucchinis, and they are soooo big!! I have been making soup, zucchini bread, and zucchini cake like it is going out of style. Not to mention I have been freezing it and sharing it like crazy too! But, I still have massive zucchinis stacked up on my counter that are starting to drive me batty.

My question to all of you chefs out there is: What else can I do with my zucchinis?? Please help me!! I am sure everyone else would love to hear of new zucchini recipes too. Thank you so much!
