Belly Button Bliss Review and Giveaway

Oh, I just want to jump right in and start telling you about this awesome book I just finished reading - Belly Button Bliss written by lovely moms just like us and edited by Jennifer Derryberry Mann.

You know how it feels when people find out you are pregnant and they start telling all the labor horror stories they have ever heard or imagined?? I have definitely heard my fair share, and as I get closer to my due date, (ONLY 9 WEEKS LEFT!!!) I am more excited than ever to have my first home birth and experience another unique labor! I figure if you don't have a positive attitude before you even start labor, what do you expect is going to happen?

That is why I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this new book edited by Jennifer Derryberry Mann. "If you want to help an expectant mama feel good about birth, tell her a happy birth story," says Derryberry Mann. "To hear what has gone right with birth, to know how women moved through the intensity, to learn what kept them focused and unafraid, to hear about the moments of joy and accomplishment - these stories make a truly wonderful gift for a mother-to-be." Belly Button Bliss is such a beautiful collection of happy, hopeful birth stories. It is a celebration of childbirth from start to finish! I love this, because I happen to think that birth is the most awesome miracle I have ever experienced.

This small collection of stories comes from 22 women who were willing to share their unique birth experiences with all of us! Each story is written in a different and unique way and reflects each woman's personality, which I love. It is like getting together with a lovely group of women in your living room and sharing the joys of one of the most memorable days of your life!

The book is divided up into Hospital Births, Home Births, and Extra Special Births(which include Cesarean-section, VBAC, birth of twins, and birth of an adopted child). There is a story for which each of us can relate to and be encouraged by.

I don't know about you, but birth stories touch my heart in a way that nothing else quite does. I found myself crying through this book - not sad tears, but tears of joy, courage, and strength! It is such an empowering and inspirational book! I want to buy a dozen copies and pass them out to all my friends - pregnant or not.

To buy your copy of Belly Button Bliss, click right on the book on the website. Otherwise, we are giving away one copy of this fabulous book to one of my beautiful readers!

  24. I don't so much have a birth comment but I really miss the feeling of having your little one moving around in your belly. I can't have any more children and my youngest is already 7 years old. :( I do still get baby fever. Luckily I have friends. ....Tiffypoot @ (aol.com)
