Yerba Mate Tea Review and Giveaway

I first saw Yerba Mate tea on one of my fav shows, "Get Fresh with Sara Snow." She was loving it, and I wanted to try it so bad!! I got my chance when The Mate Factor wanted to be part of this tea event.

Let me introduce you to Yerba Mate tea. Yerba Mate is an energizing herb tea from South America. The Yerba Mate tree possesses lots of health and energizing properties. The tea comes from the tree leaves and creates an energizing effect that is unique to Yerba Mate. It is very high in antioxidants, 4 to 6 times higher than green tea. Wow, huh? It also has a generous supply of vitamins and minerals such as: Vitamins A, B, C and E, magnesium, potassium, iron, and more. And one more thing, all of you who are looking to lose weight, Yerba Mate is known to help with weight loss because it creates heat during digestion on a metabolic level, therefore temporarily increasing your metabolism.

The Mate Factor provides the freshest Yerba Mate available. They preserve the nutritional value of the herb by not aging their mate. They use 100% certified organic Yerba Mate. I also love that they have a great relationship with their Brazilian producers, helping them earn a fair wage and helping to preserve the environment there.

The Mate Factor sells loose tea or tea bags. I tried three different types of their tea bags.

The first was Tropical Lime. This dark roast box contains 20 large tea bags, and the ingredients are yerba mate, hibiscus, dried lime, adn roasted chicory. What I loved about this one is that you can drink it hot or cold and it is so refreshing and has an extra boost of Vitamin C!! The only minor downside was that is was only 80% organic ingredients, due to the lime. But, I still think it is a great tea!

I also tried their Mocha Mint. This one you can have hot or cold again, and I love the 100% organic ingredients of yerba mate, roasted carob, and peppermint. It wasn't as mocha-ey or mint-ey as I had daydreamed, but it was tasty!

The last one was the Chai. I used to love drinking Chai tea during college, so I was excited to try this version. It's 100% organic ingredients are: yerba mate, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, roasted chicory, clove, black pepper and nutmeg. What a blend!! It has such a spicy full taste!

I honestly don't know which one was my favorite. It was probably between the Mocha Mint and Chai. Hmm....yum. Yerba Mate is definitely a great, healthy way to get an energy boost without sugar and icky ingredients. You can decide on your favorite and try some of their other flavors here. Otherwise, one of my lovely readers is going to win all three boxes that I tried!! Woohooo!

  18. Tropical lime Yerba Mate sounds intriguing. I've recently gotten into limes after spending a lifetime considering them small, unripe lemons.
